This was my very first before/after project! For over 15 years as a Realtor, I’ve been helping sellers maximize the return on their investment by giving them advice on how to get the “right look” that will capture a buyers attention. This can be anything from painting and decluttering to staging to mini-facelifts for a kitchen or bath. Recently, I was asked by a friend if I would consider helping her friend redesign some rooms in her home. Um… yesssss!! I had so much fun and I’m excited to share what I did!
Working with a small room can be a challenge, but with a little strategic styling and creative organization you can create a space that is cozy and fun to hang out in.
All the furniture was from Ikea, including this desk and chair. I was so thrilled that it fit so perfectly in this spot. I DIY’s the mason jar pencil holder with a piece of wood that I painted and hose clamps.
We painted the room Behr Candy Floss. A pretty, neutral pink that made the room feel bigger. Luckily the room had a lot of natural light so we could go a bit darker with the shade.
The icing on the cake was this dramatic and utterly gorgeous Pottery Barn chandelier. They’ve sold out it since I did this space, but here is a great option for a similar chandelier on Overstock.
How about you?
Have you ever looked around and wondered how your space could be reimagined? I’d love to talk to you about your project!
